Monday Lecture – 27th Jan, Lindsey Davies: Writing a series

January 27 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

‘Make sure you put the dog in it enough!’ – historical novelist Lindsey Davis will talk about the perils and benefits of writing long novel sequences. With thirty years’ experience of producing the Falco and Albia series, she will discuss sustaining characters and story lines, avoiding howlers and keeping things fresh. Do series have to be preplanned or are surprises good? What differences are there between setting up Falco in the late 1980s and started to write about Albia twenty years later? There will be anecdotes, opinions – and plenty of opportunity for questions from the audience.
