Study Day – Charles Dickens, Barnaby Rudge (1841)

March 13 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Might a narrative which exposes misrepresentation and lies (‘fake news’), persuasion through flattery and manipulation (‘spin’) and incitement to violence (‘rabble rousing’) possibly be relevant today? It is difficult to account for the relative neglect of a novel which shows Dickens at his most passionate and compassionate.
