Study Day – George Eliot, Middlemarch (1871)
November 22 @ 10:15 am - 4:00 pm
On the day of what would have been George Eliot’s 200th birthday (had she lived so long) we shall tackle what is generally agreed to be her finest novel. Shall we be tempted to endorse Noël Coward’s view shall that “she was a dull, morose, humourless lady with more than a touch of genius”? At the very least we shall be inclined to agree with Michael Gove that Middlemarch is superior to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novels.
To attend this event, please book directly with organisers Dr Pamela Mason & Keith Parsons at firstname.lastname@example.org
